Would you like to join a friendly, supportive workplace that is focused on helping some of our most vulnerable community members? SAFEHOME provides a healing atmosphere where survivors of domestic violence can gain inner strength, build self-esteem, explore options, and establish a life free of violence. Our mission is to break the cycle of domestic violence and partner abuse for victims and their children by providing shelter, advocacy, counseling, and prevention education in our community.
SAFEHOME is looking for full-time Evening Hotline Advocate to join our team. Hotline Advocates answer calls coming into our 24-hour crisis line and provide support to residents in our domestic violence shelter. SAFEHOME is a secure facility and candidates must be comfortable with following security protocol and maintaining strict confidentiality.
Candidates must have knowledge of domestic violence issues, be able to interact with clients in a compassionate, resourceful and trauma-informed manner, and be able to maintain healthy boundaries. Given the nature of working with clients in crisis, it is important that candidates not have unresolved emotional issues regarding their own past experience with abuse of any kind. A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred – in social work or similar discipline.
This position offers a competitive salary and full benefits, including health, dental, vision, life/ADD/LTD, 403b with match, an Employee Assistance Program and a generous time off policy.
To apply, please send a cover letter, resume and application to Desiree Long, Shelter Operations Manager, at email@example.com fax to 913-262-4570. No calls, please.
